What about a fatal fourway tables tournament?

You have four fourways, with the winners in a fourway.

That's like fun squared.

the most over the top thing I can think of is having six 6 man matches, and the winners get placed into a 6 man to be the ultimate 6 man match master

I posted a while ago that the way to finally burn it down and determine the king of everything is to hold 40 40-man rumbles, the winners of which enter a final 40-man rumble. The winner of that rumble gets a spot in a 16 man tournament, so the whole process of the rumbles has to be done 16 times. Except, all the winner of that tournament gets is a spot in the real super-duper-king-of-everything 16 man tournament, so the whole process of running the qualification tournaments has to be done 16 times. I'm too lazy to crunch the numbers, but what I do know is that that's a lot of damn matches.

Well you have 41 rumble matches done 16 times to get one king of the ring, which is 656 matches. There are 15 matches in a 16 man king of the ring that brings it up to 671 per entrant in the final king of the ring.
671*16= 10736 to get all the participants in the super-duper-king-of-the-everything, and 15 more matches to decide the ultimate winner, so you get 10751 matches.

Oh right, this is about contenders...go Donkey Kong I guess.

Right contenders, Dan is showing the power of Saikyo style, I think he should get more chances to prove himself.

a Dan/Guile feud would be great

I think a 6-man something would be the best way of determining a contender. Outside of my proposed idea for a Rumble, an Elimination Chamber, and a KOTR Tournament to determine a fatal-four-way for End Game X!(Book it.)

Elimination Chamber is pretty thematic. I'd love a fan-voted chamber again. Hopefully Sabin and Goemon are appreciated enough to get spots. I still cry that Ezio was in that last match over Bowser.

A chamber would be neat.
Assuming we even have time to set one up. If we don't do fan-voting, and I hope we don't do voting to decide who has a chance at headlining endgame, The only locks for it right now would be Sabin and Goemon, So we'd need at least one episode for others to build up any sort of momentum to actually get in the chamber unless we want the other 4 to be Kanji + 3 guys who are riding on a single win.
Then we'd need an episode for the beat the clocks.
And one for the chamber itself.
And at least one episode to build hype for the fight because it would be a damn shame if Guile couldn't heel it up.

I think the best way to do it would be to lock in 5 spots with people. Sabin and Goemon are names being thrown around, I personally would love to see Layton thrown in there for the new gen rep along with Kanji if he's not doing anything, and if he can grab another small win or put on a strong performance at the least, Break Man has a great opportunity to carry a good feud with Guile as well as setting up a rematch of a match that basically spiralled Proto Man's championship reign down the drain just short of ending it.

I would leave the sixth spot up to fan voting, as it would be pretty cool and fun, and it creates a way for the fans to get involved without having a lopsided fan vote that results in Ganondorf and Ezio in the same ring.

Does/should tag-team performance affect your consideration for a title shot? Because if so I'm not sure Sabin should get one quite yet, as he has undeniably been the weak link in Shadow Blitz. But I'll admit, he does deserve a go at the Casual title at the very least.

Layton on the other hand barely deserves even that, despite how much I love him.

Tag teams are tag teams, man. If Tags counted for any singles glory, Wily would deserve #1 contendership for the main belt, as opposed to being one of the lowest of the low card.

It should affect your consideration for tag titles, but that's it. Falcon could have gotten a shot at the belts together with Ezio, but no-one would have considered him for casual right now.

I have to disagree on that one. In the second match, Sabin was actually the stronger of the two in my opinion, while Cage was the ebst in the first one. And I don't think it should really affect him, not like he was specially bad in them, it was just not enough. Not like is partner was particulary great in those match too. So yeah, for me Sabin deserve a shot at the big one, not the casual one.

But I agree that Layton should get one or two win in the next week to convince me. Right now, I don't see him as a contender.

NOPE.
The only recent example I can think of that tag success led to singles contendership was Vegeta, for being a guy who had pinned Scorpion, Ganondorf and Air Man up until that point.

Remember, earning a Contenders match within 5 or so matches is the EXCEPTION, not the rule. Travis and Layton are on a pretty good track right now. We shouldn't push everyone to be a Kanji or a Dante. Not everyone goes storming out of the gate as soon as they're in.

Kanji and Dante went running out. Travis and Layton are jogging behind. Zubaz never actually left the pen, he got his foot stuck as the door opened.

Toad isn't sure where the race is going on or where it's going, but he's pretty confident he's gonna win it nonetheless.
