I'd like to see Armstrong against someone like Cage, Dante, Phoenix, or Gary before we throw him into contendership. Someone who's on the faster side rather than just the mastadon mambo he's been playing. Show that he can take on all types of comers. Kanji still hasn't fought a proper mastadon yet, and I'm wary because the only time he fought someone above his weight class before on the main show (Asura), it ended very poorly. Personally, i feel like a wrestler should be defined by not only beating high card talent, but also beating a variety. Scorpion was damn good because he could struggle against someone like Dracula, but then eat DK for breakfast, and put on a five-star with Snake but send the similarly-skilled Gary packing early. I like having a complete gauge for characters before throwing them against a champ, and Armstrong doesn't have that yet. Hell, Kanji doesn't have it, Sabin's gonna be the most mastadon fighter he's ever fought (which is a weird sentence to type). The clear solution is just 'throw Bowser and Snake at everyone'. Also I just wanna say, I want to see Edgeworth in more matches, because he beat Bowser. |

8-5 in singles, with his losses coming against Air Man, Guile, Vegeta, Snake in Extreme Rules, and Kanji. Yeah he deserves a shot at the main strap. |

Johnny's previous match was him completely scrubbing out of a casual contender's six-man. I think he needs another win or two considering how badly Nick's been doing lately. |

Nah it was squashing Knuckles, who just won tonight. And Phoenix just beat DK two episodes ago. |

that's right snake

Johnny's record since his debut has been too good to not give him a title shot. He's fought nobody but the toughest singles wrestlers in the company since the beginning and he's held his own with a winning record. |

We seriously need to start considering Johnny because he only ever fights REALLY strong wrestlers. I'm fairly certain pre-Pratitude Dan and Knuckles have been the only two midcarders he's ever fought in singles, and he's beaten them both. He has a positive win ratio when his fights have been completely stuck in the topcard, and that's worth a look. Maybe one more. At most. One more win just to prove that he CAN keep that momentum going. |

Cage and Bison are the ultimate wildcards and Cage really does deserve some kind of contenders match. Like what others have been saying, the guy fights almost exclusively top carders, not including the midcard multimans, and has gotten wins over guys like Bowser, Gabe, Mac etc. Now that the title scene is finally vulnerable we should be getting more wildcards like him into the mix. |

Here's who I'd pick for the next contender's match once we get the new belts and Sabin vs. Kanji happens: Travis Touchdown vs. Johnny Cage vs. Ganondorf vs. winner of Barret/Air Man match As mentioned before Travis has been on a streak lately, capped off with a win over Dante. Johnny Cage proved his worth by beating Phoenix this episode. Ganondorf proved himself the superior champ over Scorpion, and could be ready for a fourth championship reign. The fourth spot is a bit harder to pick. Barret beat Octodad, but Octodad is pretty solidly midcard. If Barret's going for yet another shot, he needs to punch at a higher weight. Someone like Air Man or Haggar would make a good opponent. We'll have to wait and see when the new belts arrive. Edited by Wyvernil, Jul 14 2015, 09:03 PM.

I'd just swap out Arino for either Barret/Air Man. Air Man actually does need another win after coming off two recent embarrassing losses, and Barret in titles is always depressing, or at least will be until he actually, really, truly proves that he belongs. Meanwhile, Arino wasn't pinned or submitted to lose the Casual belt, only lost to Haggar last season, and has wins over Dan, Knuckles and now Edgeworth as of late, all of whom are entrenched in the midcard-to-upper midcard slot. |

Arino vs Bison, then the winner joins that multi-man. Airman needs more time. Don't even fucking talk about Barret and titles to me. |
