How about a tournament where Scorp/Knuckles is a first round match?

Best of both worlds.

Until Scorpion wins the tourney and gets another #1 contendership, then you're in a pickle.

Slap Ganondorf on the other side of the bracket, problem solved.

I was originally going to recommend a little 4 man bracket of Cage/Travis and Bowser/Air Man but that's kind of out the window now

Since Travis is out an there's more potential candidates I'd probably extend it to an 8 man one.

Air Man vs Bowser, Cage vs DK, Knuckles vs Scorpion, and a sort of wild card match up like Break Man vs someone like Snake or Arino. (Or maybe just throw Ganondorf in there)

I'd also personally space out all the matches over a few weeks instead of a 1 night thing and give Sabin plot with all of them so the eventual title match feels that much bigger

Edit: Or just add Knuckles in separately if he beats Scorpion since Scorpion shouldn't be in the title picture

I'm always the man.
Nappa got a title shot based on having MITB, but even before that he was near the top of the company. Maybe he deserves a legit shot this time round?

Can't rule out Armstrong either, but he's been pretty plot heavy.

Ladies Love it.
We should rule out Armstrong.
Even though he's been around for an entire season, he's been in two matches, Considering we made Kanji wait until he was 5-0, we can at least let Armstrong get a win on someone who's not Illidan.

Personally, I felt that Kanji should of waited a bit longer himself but thats besides the point. Not saying he didn't earn it, just felt too early for me.

I do want to see Armstrong in the ring more against other people before giving him a chance at the belt.

Armstrong may well have taken Illidan's place as the guy we bring out for big PPV events and for the "Oh Shit" factor that Illidan had at the start of his career. It may be a while before he goes for the Championship if so.

Yeah, I'd be careful about throwing big names in a tournament. If you put Armstrong, Ganondorf, Scorpion and Air Man in a tournament, three of them(at a minimum) would have to lose.

I'd say reserve the tournament for upper-midcard lower top-card guys. Would be a good second challenge for Sabin too.

I feel like we have enough good contenders around right now that a tournament can wait at least a little bit. They're really fun though, like rumbles, so why not?

I'd like to see another 1v1 contender's match for the main title, like we had for the casual title.

That, or Knuckles talks his way into a shot somehow.

I'm still in support of a Chamber of Elimination over a tourney. They're always a lot of fun, give us three high quality qualifiers, give 6 guys a shot, and best of all don't take 3 hours.
Not that I'd complain about a KoTR but I'd rather have the contendership knocked out in one match so everything else doesn't have to slow down for it.

I hope Wario gets a singles match soon, dude has shown great improvement and I think he's close to earning a casual shot.

Uhhh...careful what you wish for?

Anyway, Goemon's got something going, I feel. Gary's no slouch and Sonic is proving to be on a bit of an upswing, which makes Goemon's earlier victory more impressive in retrospect.

He still needs a decisive win, but I think a match against someone like Barret or Snake could go a long way towards giving him a compelling title argument.

I'd say Goemon could use a casual shot. He could face the winner of Ezio/Layton.
