Who's the next legend gonna be?

I'm gonna take a wild guess and go with Phoenix Wright.

Or, if it's a returning wrestler, Mario.

I hope it's not Phoenix. With Edgeworth here there's lots of potential for Wright. Besides, he hasn't won anything yet, he can't retire!

Of current wrestlers, I can see Ganon (plz no ;_;), Bowser (plz no either) or Eggman/Wily (I'd actually be OK with this) getting Legends contract. They're all old, somewhat succesful and not in much currently. For wilder guesses I could see Red, Segata or Ezio/Falcon getting Legend'd, but I think they still have things to accomplish.

If it's a returning one, Kratos would be hilarious, but Mario would make sense. Also Pyro.

I don't dare hope that Pyro's coming back, despite how much I loved him - yeah, his dodgy CAW got fixed, but he was never over enough with the crowd to bother bringing back. And it's not like you could bring him on as a co-op exclusive to reform Team Fortress 2, with Heavy already with the Bullies.

Aye, I think you're forgetting about someone who could fix your problem, laddeh.

(I actually don't want Demoman to return to just be in tags with Pyro since an amazing singles talent like that should be put to better use. But it's not a matter of "should", it's a matter of "could", and Demo/Pyro could totally be a feasible tag team).

3 TF2 reps seems too much, and EDBW's already lost nearly all of its top talent. We've gotta leave them something, and Demo feels better as an EDBW staple to me.

So...new plotlines seem to be opening up!

  • It looks like somebody wants good 'ol Dracula to pack up and go homu. Who could possibly be out for the leader of the Drac Pack?!
  • Gary continued his subtle way of getting on Red's case by putting him in a Handicap Match! If Gary keeps this up, there's a very good chance it might backfire...
  • Speaking of Gary, he's still finding ways of pissing off Illidan. Just how much more can <The Betrayer> take before he lives up to his namesake!?
  • And finally, the Wrestling Prodigies of the World of Law finally collided! Edgeworth ran into Phoenix at the scene of a crime. Was Nick involved in the incident? If not, why was he there?!

Yeah, it's too soon for Phoenix to ride off into the sunset. You've got potential storylines/feuds with Layton as well as Edgeworth. Nick's been out of plot focus for a few seasons; it could be time for him to get something.

I'm thinking Ganon as the other legend contract; he's pretty much a legend already, and seems to get overlooked for title shots even when he's on a roll.

As for new plot lines, there's also the question of who the stair saboteur was. Was it Layton, who set it up as a puzzle gone awry? Or maybe Travis, sore about the new GM's laissez-faire attitude toward basic maintenance? Or was there some sinister reason why Edgey missed that match last week? Or was Dante trying to blame Travis for it out of general dickishness?

At least we've got both of our crime-solving lawyers on the case now.

I'm still waiting for the payoff on the ink thing. Could the ink have been covering a name, maybe a name that starts with D? The person the legends contract is intended for could have sabotaged the contract and is now trying to pin it on Dracula. Donkey Kong? Dan Hibiki?! Diddy Kong?!

Ladies Love it.
So, who would want Drac gone, and would threaten him in that way?
It's not Ganon pulling another Guerdo Skies explosion, since Ganon wouldn't fuck around like this he'd just facebuster Drac into the entrance ramp....and that's really all I got.
The only real Suspect I can think is Layton and then the only -very shakey- reason I can think Layton would want Drac gone is to assert himself as a new lord of darkness. Which I don't think Layton would do.

Is it related to the Sabin Staircase incident? How badly does Sabin's foot hurt? Was Nick just there to investigate as well, or is something Wrong with Wright?

The answer is Toad. It's always Toad. He wants to be the best Dark Lord now and so he's simply asking competition to step aside else face his bestness.

I get the feeling that a Belmont (possibly a returning Simon, but it could easily be Richter or Julius) sent the note, or Alucard might be getting a push. However, with Dracula's lack of momentum in these past nine months, it may easily be someone else. I mean, sure he looks vulnerable, but is there a need for a Belmont or Alucard to show up if others can handle him? It'd be an odd time to strike.

The second Legends Contract might go to Ganondorf, but I feel that it could just as easily be for someone else. While Ganon has been kept away from the title scene for quite some time, his career seems just as immortal as he is, with last Season's triple crossover event being a great example of that. Plus, with his potential injuries, he might be gone for a while either way, no contract needed.

I've seen speculation that the ink blots may have been caused by one of the wrestlers, but looking at the plot again, neither recipient had gotten a chance to sign the contracts yet and the ink was on both. With this in mind, either Baz McMahon himself caused the blots or they were forged by someone extremely messy. If it's the former, the Legends Contract could be for someone Baz really liked, thus causing him to McMahon rage and make the mess.

---------------------------

Regarding the stairs, Donte's mysterious white gloves could incriminate him, but the timeline doesn't fit. Donte was seen with the white gloves before Travis first complained about the vending machine, so unless he planned a what-if well in advance to spite Travis he likely isn't the culprit. Layton has been busy testing Sabin, but messing with a railing may not be his style and the victim could have also easily been Knuckles. That might be sloppy work for Layton's standards, and since Knux doesn't have any actual enemies I doubt it was a trap meant for him that Sabin accidentally sprung. It could be that the stairs weren't meant for a specific target so much as being a deterrent to hide something -- after all, unless Sabin and Knux were just knuckleheads, few people seem to have even known about the upper floor. In that case, who might have something to hide, or who could be trying to hog, for example, the gym up there?

Looking back on the plot, I noticed that Gary mentioned the upper floor storage closet when talking to Travis. Now, Gary may have just pulled that out of his butt to get Travis to leave (as in he'd have said that even if the floor and closet didn't exist), but if not he's one of the few who knew of the upper floor in advance. On a related note, Travis mentioned that there's a stationery room on the upper floor -- and a threatening letter has recently been sent. Whoever sent the note to Dracula may also have sabotaged the stairs.

If the upper floor really is hiding something, we'll have to see if the elevator Toad took was sabotaged as well. The tryhard didn't show up this week, so we don't know if he's okay.

It occurred to me today that the Practice's lab from Season 8 was never uncovered. If Nick and Edgey are poking around backstage playing Hunt the Pixel for clues about the sabotaged staircase, there's a possibility that they might accidentally uncover said lab, and this could lead to more PLOT.

Spoiler: click to toggle
