I just realized Protoman is probably one of the lowest ranked VGCW champions ever, if not the lowest ranked all time?
Ha, it's as if called for him to need a non title match against one of the top three. :lakitu:

that's right snake
New stuff's up, also I forgot to say that everything you guys inferred about the rumble and last weeks rankings or whatever was mostly wrong. Except Shieldhill, that nigga's on point yo.

1/4/2014

The reason why I don't do rumbles is because Kubo had his method on a seperate sheet on the doc, which I deleted, and I don't feel it necessary to come up with my own because :effort:

Proto still has quite a lot to prove coming up to his defense...but beating Drac certainly validates his holding the belt at least - and raises the stakes for the title defense coming up.

Other than some rising stars continuing to rise though, seems like a pretty standard shift.

Thank you Commander.

I still find it funny that Ganondorf has the same power ranking as Vegeta.

Oh how times have changed.

I have an inkling feeling Phoenix's next match is going to be against DK. He'll either win and beat the streak, and even if he loses the fact that he's seen to be as good as DK (and others like Bowser) nowadays now shows how far he's come since the early days.

...But he already did. :stare:

I thought the Phoenix Wrong match didn't count though? I'm confused.

The Phoenix Wrong match does count for The Streak, it just doesn't count for the Power Rankings. Phoenix Wright has won his last eight singles matches, and that puts him ahead of (non-Glitch Bomb) Donkey Kong. Fun fact, if Phoenix can rise to the challenge of winning his next singles match, he'll even tie Glitch Bomb DK.

Okay, thanks for clearing that up.

I think, similar to Red's badge quest, that he should get something special if he reaches ten wins. Not necessarily a title shot, but even a commendation of some kind in-show. Like, "You did this, now how much farther can you go and will anyone else step up to the challenge?".

Much like how I thought Red's record-setting title run was enough of a reward in itself, I think Phoenix's streak is plenty amazing to stand on its own without really needing to "honor" him in any other way. He has the longest singles winning run of all time and he's building up a giant mound of points in the rankings, which usually translate to title opportunities. That's all you can really ask for.

Interesting way to put it, since his fight against Brock tonight isn't going to affect his standing in any way on the leader board.

Power Rankings aren't everything, otherwise we might as well not have Co-Op matches.

Phoenix is at nine wins in a row, and that incredible feat isn't lessened by only seven of those earning him rankings points.
