Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
No worries. Desu isn't exactly an unbiased party here, but I agree that it just doesn't feel quite right to have a winner get eliminated. I wouldn't mind seeing it changed, I wouldn't mind seeing it stay. Prozach makes some good points, multi-men are harder to survive and it's right that they count.
Multi-Men and Singles matches are completely different in this case. With the Elimination Chamber, there was one chance to win as opposed to a 2/3 Falls match where you have two chances to win/lose. If anyone wants this 2/3 fall rule to stay, then Waluigi and anyone else who didn't get the pin in a Multi Man should be eliminated because they didn't win. That's how I feel about it.
I guess there's just a divide on what getting eliminated means. To me, it's taking a fall. Hypothetical scenario, say that Eggman had managed to knock out Arino before losing to the Nerd tonight. By your definition, Arino should stay because he won, but in the process he was clearly knocked out of the fight. In a contest based on elimination rules, it wouldn't be fair to everyone else if the guy with Arino got to stick around even though he was clearly pinned. Opposite spectrum, the triple threat you mentioned. Waluigi did not take the fall in that match. Segata did, and thus he's clearly eliminated. But why should the guy with Waluigi be knocked out too when his character wasn't even part in the finish?

Again, Multi Man matches are completely different from a Singles match. One shouldn't get eliminated if they win a match where the circumstances require 2 falls even if the winner should get pinned once in the process. If Arino got pinned by Eggman and AVGN were to win it for the team, Arino would be eliminated because of the circumstance of the match having an "elimination" clause. And I used Waluigi as an example because he didn't meet the criteria for winning, so he should be eliminated.

Basically, unless you were previously eliminated from Survivor; the winner of a match should not be eliminated.

Damn, people seem split over this. I personally will throw in a vote to get rid of the 2/3 falls match rule and just have them work like Iron Man matches.

The reason an exception was made for the Iron Man matches though is because it is nigh-impossible to escape a lengthy match without suffering a single fall. Even in some of the most dominating performances in that match's history, Bowser was pinned 5 times, and the Nerd was pinned once. 2/3, as previously shown, isn't nearly as likely to end in an assured double elimination.

8 people (on roster) with 1 show left to wrestle.
Damn, I forgot about this but Inactivity is about to rear its ugly head once again and DOMINATE the circuit.

So far, it appears to be 2-3 (lol how fitting) on whether or not people want it changed. I'll wait until sometime tomorrow before deciding the rules. In the meantime...

Quick recap of #TheNight

Barret Wallace beats Knuckles.

DK beats Zangief in a 2/3 falls match.

Kefka is eliminated in a fatal four-way that Wario wins.

Vegeta wins a First Blood match against Captain Falcon.

AVGN eliminates both members of The Practice in the Co-Op title match.

Dracula pins Segata to become the new Casual champion, keeping both himself and Waluigi alive.

I vote for 2/3 to stay .
Assuming you mean to keep the rules as they are now, now we're tied.

The next vote (if there is another one) will be the tiebreaker. If there isn't a tiebreaker/majority vote by the next show, I guess we'll keep the current rules.

Remember last year when we were excited for this?
I feel like rules changes shouldn't happen mid season. The same way where we decided to change the inactivity rule only when the new season began. It's a rule that's been around since the beginning, and there was never any confusion about what would happen. It's no more or less fair than anything else. If you want to change it for next season however, I'm fine with that.

Now if only I could actually pick someone who could survive a match in one of these things.

Alright, it is tied anyways, so it stays the same for now. Maybe we'll do more voting when this season ends to decide what happens with Season 3.

I say keep the 2/3 rules as they currently are. There's been a pretty common domination of 2-0 in these matches and honestly it makes the match more tense if you know "even one pin and they're out of Survivor"

Winning multi-man matches is often more difficult than 2/3 Falls. We made Iron Man exception because odds of winning clean is incredibly low. I say we keep the rules.

I'm okay if we switch the rules for next season though.

Can I be Seifer since he's backstage brawling now? :dan: (Probably not, but it's worth a shot)
