CUTE!

So figured I'd ramble on about the Nintendo 3DS and my handheld experience or lack there of. I've never really been a handheld person. I had the original game boy, yes the freaking brick, the Gameboy Advance and the Nintendo DS and I've just never been a fan. I know they're fun and there is so much enjoyment to be had. They've just never been my cup of tea. Nothing ever really wowed me. Then the 3DS came out but I still didn't really notice it. Fast forward a year and it just hit me like a punch in the gut. There were so many games out for it and they all looked fun as hell. Even still I was skeptical about it but I was more interested then I have ever been. Once the XL was out I was even more into it. It just seemed like a great handheld and for once, I wanted one more then any handheld I ever wanted. Through the kindness of an awesome friend, I was able to get a 3DS XL a few weeks ago. My first game was Kid Icarus Uprising. I went in not knowing what to expect. Would I love it or would I just be disappointed? Spoilers, I wasn't disappointed at all. I was hooked and addicted by the first level. Damn Kid Icarus Uprising is so fun and if you haven't played it GO GO GO PLAY! That's when it hit me once again. There were so many games that I wanted for the 3DS, both already out and coming out. I couldn't believe it. I never would have imagined there would have been so many great games for a handheld. I went a little nuts and bought a few more games. I'll try not to ramble about them but I GOTTA GO FAST! Project X Zone, BUY IT! Fire Emblem Awakening, BUY IT! Mario Kart 7, BUY IT! The Legend of Zelda OOT3DS, BUY IT! Pokemon X, Sure why not. Dual Destinies, BUY IT BUY IT BUY IT!!!!!! Those are the games I have and I want even more. EVEN MORE!!!!! So yeah, so many games out now that I want and more games I want coming out later. One question, HOW DID THEY DO THIS?! I'm hooked and want all the games! This handheld is so amazing and I can't stress enough that if you are thinking about getting one, now is the best time. You have a great library or games to choose from and you will not be disappointed. Feel free to tell me your favorite 3DS games and any you would recommend. Have an interesting story about the 3DS or handhelds in general? Tell it here too. Spoiler: click to toggle

really the 3ds has a great variety of games. My favorites are the Etrian Odyssey series (4 and Untold on 3DS) but it's not a series for everybody I'll admit. |

^ The above are all great suggestions. Anyway I suggest Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon and Mario & Luigi Dream Team. I'd love to give suggestions but we both already seem to pretty much have the same library. Edit: Oh yeah almost forgot A Link Between Worlds looks fantastic and since you enjoyed OOT 3D that could be a good game for you to buy when it comes out. If you like dungeon crawling, waifus and town management I say pick up Rune Factory 4. It's the combination of the best parts of Harvest Moon and old school Legend of Zelda. |

If you're a fan of the Pokemon series, get X or Y, whichever one has the legendary you like. Also, parroting the same about Super Mario 3D Land. Awesome indeed. And whilst we're on the subject of handhelds, I think I don't need to say much about the material known as Nintendium, known to be almost as indestructible as a Nokia phone. Heck, my GBA went through abuse one day via hard landing on concrete via trampoline, a lawnmower running over it, and a dog chewing on it. And it still worked perfectly! Nintendium: Making Nintendo consoles and cartridges seemingly impossible to destroy since 1985. |

The Nintendium reserves seem to be running low though. I believe the original 3DS had hinges that snapped easily. |

True, but the 2DS is as durable as the legendary Brick. |

Everyone has made great suggestions as far as games are concerned. Now go out there and get some streetpasses! |
