On the subject of voice actors, once you get to the main game, you'll be delighted to find that the Kaiser (who appears literally as soon as you press New Game so this isn't a spoiler) sounds identical to Liquid Snake. Same bloke, same voice.

I knew there was a reason I liked Nikolai, the guy's voiced by Iron Tager. God I wish Nikolai was my dad. Can Nikolai be my dad?

So does anybody know what's up with the ba'al enemies? Like why they're so goddamn cool? Seriously, Sea Urchin just oozes style and pain.

Finished the demo and unlocked all the transfer bonuses, so I'm just waiting for the full game now.

It's interesting that, unlike the demo for the first game (which was non-canon and didn't fit anywhere in the story), this one is actually a prequel.

In-universe reason: They come from SPAAAAAAACE
Design choice reason: The design team actually made some of the Ba'als out of real materials like beads and fabrics. I don't know if Sea Urchin falls into that category, however.

Damn, that's cool. Never would have guessed, but looking at Turtle Dove it makes sense.

EDIT: Also apparently Ba'al is a Semitic honorific meaning lord or deity, so that's pretty fuckin neat.

In addition to some jobs from the first game just being gone entirely, every single one of those that are left have been nerfed and/or simplified. The developers made sure to get rid of all the overpowered combinations for the sequel. So no more Low Leverage + My Hero/Mimic/Mimic/Mimic spam for 3 BP a turn on the party anymore, for example.

Some of the "new" jobs are really just heavily modified/nerfed versions of ones from the original though, under a different name.
