ARE YOU REALLY FEELING IT, BROTHER?!

Performer/Freelancer is a very strong combo once Freelancer gets mimic. You can do My Hero and follow it up with mimic to give the rest of the team extra BP. Templar/Knight is really solid and works very well together. Ironclad, Super Charge, and Desperation are all great. Templar/White Mage also isn't bad, as Temps have good MND. I find Templar more of a situational job myself. I'm on chapter 8 and heading towards the true ending (Already got the normal one) and my current team, which I'm very satisfied with, is this: Edea: Swordmaster/Ninja - A tank with fangs, she uses Kairai to ensure hits come her way and then retaliates viciously with Swordmaster counters. This doesn't work for all bosses, and when it doesn't it's usually because the boss has too much party-wide damage. As such, I usually switch her to Templar/Knight for such encounters so she can continue to support with Rampart. Tiz: Dark Knight/Salve-Maker - When he's not melting enemy faces, Tiz is supporting the group by doublign their HP with Giant's Draft or making the enemies weak to Darkness, as to better melt their faces. Ringabel: Performer/Freelancer - A 'BP Battery', as the term goes, Ringabel spends every turn using My Hero and mimicking it twice. A bit boring, but well worth it to have Elvis saving the world. Agnes: Vampire/Spiritmaster - I used to have her a Spiritmaster/WHM, but awhile ago I realized my team was lacking offense and that for most fights White Wind was the only healing I needed. With Spiritmaster's great mitigation of status effects and elemental damage, that's even more true. In the rare event white magic is actually needed, such as for Dispels, I switch her back. I forgot to note I'm running Hasten World on Ringabel with this setup, because gotta go fast. Edited by Yayifcations, Feb 16 2014, 12:57 PM.

There is, and it's fully customisable. You can choose what carries over and what doesn't. |

Cause apparently it is fine to make an old school RPG for a handheld but gods help you if you make ANYTHING not completely new and different on a console that is not an FPS or the "games journalists" will say your company is dying and should develop things for mobile phones. |

Also, I was apparently wrong. This game wasn't developed by Square at all, merely published by Square. The people actually responsible for the game are Silicon Studios, most famous for 3D Dot Game Heroes. |

TOUGH BOY

FFXIII had a myriad of problems from the outset that prevent it from touching Bravely Default, let alone even mentioning them in the same breath as they are quite different beasts. One represents the nostalgic window into a past era of JRPGs, another represents one person's failed idea of the future of Final Fantasy. Edited by Mr. Satan Overlay Face, Feb 16 2014, 01:27 PM.

So I've gotten to Chapter 6, and FINALLY got that damn Blue Chest Key, so now it's time to get all those, and finally build up the Vampire since I didn't before. Another awesome job combo I found that Ringabel is using is Dark Knight with Spellblade skills, putting Drain on and then spamming all the high HP cost spells I want. It's pretty great. |

Well yeah they are different beasts. The characters in Bravely Default are at least likable. |

Not to mention, unlike Security Guard L, none of BD's protags are self-admitted by author Mary Sues.

Drain Sword is nice, but once you get a blood blade, that's better. You can use the blood blade to get drain sword, then unequip it and re-equip your normal weapon, thus saving you a job slot. |

Done with chapter 1. Spoiler: click to toggle Did the sub quest to its fullest, my team is currently Tiz - Spell Blade/Knight - Two Hand/Protect Allies, not really interested in spell blade as a full job, but going to get the flame wall counter thing, going to eventually have Tiz as a Dark Knight focused around protecting allies and counter attacking. Agnes - Monk/Thief - I guess the vestigal of wind is going to be my "agile" character Ringabel (I saw what they did there by the way.) White Mage/Merchant, don't care much about the actual Merchant abilities, I do however care very much about the Money Rate increase. Edea - Black Mage/Time Mage, eh Magic character I guess, maybe she will go to summoner eventually, I wish there was a Geomancer class in this game, Summoner/Geomancer was kicking in FF-5 |

Remember last year when we were excited for this?
|
I had to put it down for a bit after a sidequest in chapter 2 yesterday... If you've played it you probably know the one. Right in the feels there. No intention of stopping, just a really powerful moment. As for my party, I dunno, I'm kinda doing things at random. I got an overpowered bow from the village, so whoever I currently have as thief kinda wrecks all the random encounters on their own. I'm trying out different stuff and giving everyone a chance at lots of stuff to see what sticks. I do find Magic to be relatively weak so far, hopefully that will change as I get into the 3rd tier spells. |

Magic sadly had issues. It CAN be made viable, but for the same effort you could make a physical character even better, rather than simply making magic viable. Moreover, there are basically no situations that call specifically for offensive magic. It's probably the game's most glaring flaw. |

I think its mostly a matter of using the monster's weakness, but I have felt that magic takes a backseat sometimes. |
