Oh I knew where you were at, I was just giving an example of the HP/Damage amounts going way out of balance.

Those guys for that subquest are a whole nother level of stupid design, to where one class completely negate them completely.

Oh, I beat some of those easily enough. A few of the others (mostly the fire spam brigade) I sadly had to resort to Toxic Megalixir/Mimic spam to really have any hope of beating them. Well, whatever works (and that combination is horribly broken for anything that has less than 159,984 HP, which is all but the final and bonus bosses).

I'm nearing the very end now. At least the story has finally picked up again, almost as good as the first half was.

I beat the game last weekend, it was pretty good save for Chapter 5 being pretty shitty. I feel like they made that mage squad boss fight intentionally broken so players could find ways to bullshit around it.

Chapter 5 and 6 are both pretty bad. Aside from a new sub-quest in each, they're just pretty boring to slog though. It does get better later, but I really hated those.

Two of the most broken combinations in the game are:

Toxic Megalixir abuse (as mentioned above). This involves having a Megalixir, and Freelancer mastered to level 14 for everyone, with Salve-Maker leveled to at least job level 10 as a secondary skill on the fastest of your four party members. Just Brave x3 with everyone at the start of the battle, use Turn Toxic - Toxic Megalixir and Mimic x3 on your fastest party member, followed by Mimic x4 on everyone else. There, you've just won the battle in a single turn. This works for everything except bosses that have more than 159,984 HP, which is nearly all of them. Needless to say, I never use this unless I really had to.

Even worse is the High Jump Valkyrie spam that, if you do it right, works against absolutely everything without fail. Make everyone Ninjas with Acrobatics (Valkyrie) as their secondary job and give them Two-Handed, Spear Lore and +Speed% up abilities. One needs to have Hasten World (the Time Mage level 14 skill). And make sure to equip everyone with your strongest spears, and accessories that boost speed.

When the fight starts, just use High Jump with everyone and set the game to Auto. As long as you're faster than the enemy, you'll keep doing damage and take none in return (aside from something very rarely sneaking through) until everything is dead.

My regular, less game-breaking team that I've used for most of the game is:

Dark Knight / Salve-Maker (Rage spam with Blood Sword, occasional healer and weakness maker)
Freelancer / Performer (My Hero spam)
Swordmaster / Pirate (Amped Strike spam, might replace this out for Dark Knight / Merchant if I get another Blood Sword, so I can Low Leverage)
Vampire / Spiritmaster (Support, healing, debuffs, occasional attacks)

Yeah, may as well post my team before I forget it.

Tiz: Pirate/Swordmaster (For extra Free Lunch and 3X Amped Strike action.)

Agnes: Spiritmaster/White Mage (Combined with the Epic Group Cast ability and Conjurer's MP Regen, I could restore around 8000 HP on everyone in one turn with a loss of only 4 MP.)

Ringabel: Vampire/Freelancer (For debuffs and exploiting weaknesses using Genome Abilities if possible. Freelancer is there pretty much because I couldn't decide on a second job to use.)

Edea: Swordmaster/Ninja (For plenty of dodging, countering, and generally dealing out good damage without taking much in return.)

When in doubt, switch to three Arcanists/Freelancers and one Performer (to buff everyone's speed) to dish out crazy damage.

Okay, so I did finish the game today. The final battle and ending was pretty clever, and damn creepy at the same time. I know it's just a game, but the implications if you'd fail...

Anyway, I did find another Blood Blade. Aside from even more Rage spam, the Merchant's Low Leverage skill makes battles ridiculously easy as long as you boost your damage enough to overcome the 50% penalty everyone gets. With Dark Bane (the compounding potion, not the attack) applied + boosted stats + Fairy's Aid on both of my Dark Knights, I was doing 7000-9999 per hit of Rage against the final boss. And since Rage hits five times and each of my Dark Knights use it two (sometimes three because of Low Leverage) times a turn...

So, there's nothing really to do now except eventually (maybe) start a New Game +.

Funny thing is I did not even need all that to hit the final boss for max damage, I used Magic Sword amp, Drain Sword and Life or Death plus some dancer hax to use Rage twice in one round. Of course this was After I popped Bravely second and hit Defile for 80K damage.

poor final boss.

Oh, I was hitting the damage cap with Rage without Low Leverage most of the time (and was constantly using My Hero/Mimic to have enough BP to use it twice a turn). And I have Drain Attack Up and Sword Magic Up on both of my DKs. But I decided to use it because, since it lowers everyone's damage and BP costs by 50%, I thought it'd give me a great advantage since I could still do nearly as much damage.

So the final bosses ended up being half as strong, while I was still doing the same amount of damage. It was pretty cheap. And in some turns, I could use Rage three times. It was fun.

In retrospect I should have switched my defile(what I called the Tier 3 sword limit break) to Ice Typing for that fight just to see if you can go over 99999...hmm those powers can crit >.> I may have to try something today.

I found out yesterday while digging around that Dispel can remove the Stop status. I wish I'd known that much earlier, but whatever. That's what I get for not reading the full tooltip for Dispel until now.

Sent moves can go up to 999,999 in power, but that doesn't mean it'll do that much damage when you summon it. My sent move is over 110,000 but whoever summons it will probably only use half of it, if even that, depending on the enemy and whether it critical hits or not.

I just picked this game up a few days ago and I'm marking about twenty hours because somehow this game is long as fuck. I can't believe I hadn't played this sooner.

Friend code is 3969-3961-9717. I'll add the friend codes I see in the thread as I read it.

Real Asian Russian, right here.
Hey, don't mind me being late but...
I tried Bravely Default after everyone praised it and my ass cracked from butthurt.

Game is tedious, main female lead is FUCKING MENTAL and should be shot to spare me the head ache. Seriously, I've never saw this much useless grind and disappointment in JRPG's since... Well, first Shin Megami Tensei's are somewhat close.
I lasted about 6 hours then I dropped it. This "game" is unplayable.
