The first half of the game was done very well. It's the second half that makes me wonder what they were smoking. I still want to re-play it on Hard some day, but the thought of that makes me think twice. And there's a few videos up now of Bravely Second, here is one: First impressions: It looks and plays almost exactly the same as the first game, which isn't really bad. But I'm getting Chrono Cross-esque vibes with the whole "areas that never existed in the first game" thing. CC explained it away as being a result of all the time-meddling, so I wonder how (if at all) it'll be explained here. |

ARE YOU REALLY FEELING IT, BROTHER?!

I'm not sure, but there's been a lot of news posted on the sequel already: http://www.siliconera.com/tag/bravely-second/ Some things that have been confirmed: * Agnes will be back and is now the pope. * A new team of writers is replacing BD's Naotaka Hayashi, also of Stein's Gate fame. * Revo isn't doing the music and it will instead be composed by ryo of the Japanese pop rock dojin band Supercell. *They've confirmed that there will be returning jobs as well as new ones, but that their won't be any new asterisk bearers for previous jobs. The asterisk bearers for existing jobs will be the same and we'll get to see their stories even further developed. Honestly the new writer and composer news worries me the most. New writers can change the whole direction of a game and the fact they haven't announced exactly who this new team of writers is a bit unsettling. As for the new composer, that's more of a personal thing as I've been a longterm fan of Revo's music and it was through those channels that I even first heard about the game. Having listened to some Supercell, though, I can say that they're not that bad. Definitely a bit more pop sounding than Revo, though, who is more theatrical. Also there was recently an hour long livestream about Bravely Second. Sadly it was in Japanese and has yet to be translated, but I'm sure we'll get some good info out of that. |

The biggest problem I see with what they've said about the asterisk-bearers is that Spoiler: click to toggle so logically there should be some new bearers for the previous jobs. And Ringabel probably won't be coming back, considering Spoiler: click to toggle

There's another trailer out that's an expansion of that one, that also shows the other three new party members: So unless some of those are guest party members or otherwise swap out at some point, none of the Bravely Default protagonists will be playable this time around. |

Well, one of those images gives a clear reason as to why the main characters aren't returning outside of Tiz. Spoiler: click to toggle So yes, I think this game is a time-travel story this time around. I wonder if there'll be Chrono Trigger-esque eras to play though? Edited by Enhas, Dec 10 2014, 08:56 PM.

I thought the 200 year thing was for this game, but I guess it's not. Anyway, the demo for Bravely Second is out now in Japan. |
